Here is my check list for a safe trip from 2016.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passport, ID card and driving license (and a secure place\u00a0for these documents)<\/li>\n<li>A bottle of water (stay hydrated)<\/li>\n<li>Snacks or meal replacement bars for sustenance during the trip<\/li>\n<li>Cough drops<\/li>\n<li>Wet\u00a0wipes and\u00a0napkins<\/li>\n<li>Something to read or listen (headphones)<\/li>\n<li>A notebook or something to write on<\/li>\n<li>A scarf or something to protect\u00a0your neck from cold<\/li>\n<li>A cap or something to close your face while sleeping<\/li>\n<li>Sunglasses<\/li>\n<li>Compression socks<\/li>\n<li>Lightweight and water-resistant pair of shoes<\/li>\n<li>Some coins\u00a0and some cash<\/li>\n<li>A universal adapter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is what I would like to add to the list in 2023 (thanks to chatGPT for ideas):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A portable charger or power bank to keep your devices charged<\/li>\n<li>Hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes to keep your hands and surfaces clean<\/li>\n<li>An extra set of clothes or a change of underwear in case of unexpected delays or lost luggage<\/li>\n<li>Maps or a guidebook for your destination to help you navigate and plan your trip<\/li>\n<li>A <span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">medical mask!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summer is a great time for research visits, schools as well as vacations.
